Film about representations and lifestyle in Roma communities
Representations and lifestyles in Roma communities as elements of Roma intangible cultural heritage can only be fully understood through the images and direct testimonies of ethnic Roma.
That is why, within the project, we made a documentary film made up of micro-interviews with representatives of the Roma ethnic group from the areas targeted for implementation who were interviewed in relation to various aspects of everyday life in the family and community, as well as regarding representations and lifestyle of their parents/grandparents/ancestors.
From the multitude of elements of tradition specific to the Roma ethnic group, we stopped at three, which we chose to explore in the film: culinary art, music and craft.
PBy making this documentary film, we aimed to discover and capitalize on part of the Roma intangible cultural heritage, but also to increase the self-esteem of the participants of the Roma ethnicity, this implicitly contributing to increasing their degree of inclusion and strengthening their identity cultural.
