„Steppe Roma – a story about the past and roads to modernity” is a project implemented by the Labor Training and Consultancy Center in partnership with the Ialomita County Museum.
Labor Training and Consultancy Center
The Labor Training and Consultancy Center is a private non-governmental organization type entity established in 2000, which promotes permanent education and cultural education, joining the effort of civic and community development at the local, regional and national level.
Throughout its 23 years of existence, CIC Labor has asserted itself through activities facilitating the access of citizens of all ages and ethnicities to education and culture, training and development of socio-economic skills, personal and community development.
The main areas of activity of the LABOR Training and Consultancy Center, in which activities have been carried out since its foundation until now, are:

Ialomita County Museum
The Ialomița County Museum pursues the fulfillment of its purpose and functions through the following activities:
• scientific research in accordance with the annual and prospective programs, an integrated part of the ongoing Management Plan;
• research and documentation in order to develop the museum heritage through acquisitions, donations or through other characteristic forms of establishing the museum heritage;
• organization of records of the cultural heritage under administration in accordance with the legal provisions in force;
• conservation and restoration of cultural assets from the museum heritage;
• enhancing the cultural heritage it manages through permanent and temporary exhibitions, cultural-educational programs, specific publications, scientific sessions, round tables, symposia, thematic excursions, etc.;
• maintaining permanent contact with the general public in order to identify their cultural needs and orient the cultural heritage promotion programs administered according to them;
• maintaining a permanent contact with the media, with non-governmental, cultural organizations, educational and research institutions, relevant international bodies and forums.
DONORS
The project “Steppe Roma – a story about the past and roads to modernity” (project code CALL07-15) is financed by the EEA Grants 2014-2021 within the RO-CULTURE Program.
The EEA Grants represent the contribution of Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway towards a green, competitive and inclusive Europe. There are two overall objectives: reduction of economic and social disparities in Europe, and to strengthen bilateral relations between the donor countries and 15 EU countries in Central and Southern Europe and the Baltics. The three donor countries cooperate closely with the EU through the Agreement on the European Economic Area (EEA). The donors have provided €3.3 billion through consecutive grant schemes between 1994 and 2014. For the period 2014-2021, the EEA Grants amount to €1.55 billion. RO-CULTURE is implemented in Romania by the Ministry of Culture through the Project Management Unit. The Programme aims at strengthening social and economic development through cultural cooperation, cultural entrepreneurship and cultural heritage management.
